This is a West Virginia Rivers Coalition update on our efforts and happenings during Gauley Season. I hope to see you there!
Conservation Efforts
New River - WVRC continues working with a wide variety of groups interested in the future of the New River. A revision of the general management plan for the New River is in progress and we will continue using our voice to help protect the river and its resources. Alongside an adequate management, we are continuing efforts to propose part of the New River Wild and Scenic. This fall, WVRC is traveling to WashingtonD.C. to work with AmericanRivers and federal legislators about this idea.
GauleyRiver WVRC continues our involvement with land owners and the Park Service in an effort to provide public access to the GauleyRiver at Masons Branch.
